MINISTRY ACTIVITIES

                                         MINISTRY ACTIVITIES

In recent times we have offered assistance to the elderly in the way of providing basic necessities. On 6/14/08 we had the pleasure of visiting elderly saints in a nursing home where we were able to encourage them through preaching and teaching the gospel. They were just so delighted with our visit and invited us back.

4/27/08

We had such pleasure in bring much appreciated food to a most wonderful elderly widow.   We also spent time sharing the Word of God with her and others who were present.  There was a spiritual breakthrough!  We closed in prayer.

4/20/08

In recent weeks we had the pleasure of assisting wonderful widows. James 1:27 says, “Pure, unstained religion, according to God our Father, is to take care of orphans and widows when they suffer and to remain uncorrupted by this world.”
Today we spent time praising and worshiping God. Out of His great love God created us(people). We were made to worship Him. He desires to have fellowship with us. Can you believe that the God who created the universe takes pleasure in us who believe in Him and enjoys our company so very much! Psalm 150 says, “1 Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. 2 Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. 3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, 4 praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute, 5 praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. 6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.”

We were able to shovel the porch, walkway, and wheel chair ramp for an elderly widow. What a blessing to be able to help in this situation. Praise God!!

Sunday, 12/09/07

We were able to bring food and toiletries to a wonderful widow. She was very appreciative.

11/29/07

We were able to help people move furniture. A young man living in the area where the folks were moved to accepted Christ as his savior.

11/23/07

We spent time together praising and worshipping God. We were able to teach young people new songs of praise to God.

11/22/07

On Thanksgiving Day we had a dinner where many attended. An elderly lady accepted Christ. We were able to minister the Word. The focus was on positive things we learned from our parents and forgiveness.

On 10/7/07 we were able to bring food to a wonderful widow who appreciated it very much! On Saturday and Sunday, the 21st and the 22nd of October, we did prayer walks in the local community. In addition to other things we prayed for a crackdown on drugs, for people to be set free from idols, and for God to help people who have been disillusioned by false religions and cults. We prayed that they would give their hearts to Jesus Christ. It is only by accepting Jesus that one can be saved.

OTHER THINGS WE PRAYED FOR INCLUDE: ( A REVIVAL IN BOSTON, AMERICA, AND THROUGHOUT THE WORLD – FOR GODLY ROLE MODELS FOR YOUNG CHILDREN – FOR AN END TO VIOLENCE AND MURDER – HEALING FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN HURT – FOR A DECREASE OF BABIES BEING BORN OUT OF WEDLOCK – FOR ENTIRE FAMILIES TO BE SAVED – FOR PEOPLE TO BE SET FREE FROM CIGARETTES – )

8/17-8/19

We went on an overnight camping trip over the weekend and had a marvelous time. Activities included a fantastic Bible service, swimming, basketball, and roasting marshmallows over a campfire. One of the highlights of the trip is that Rachael gave her heart to Jesus. Praise God!

5/3/07

This is the annual ‘National Day of Prayer.’

We came together to pray for America and the world to come to Christ. Among other things we asked God to provide jobs for our young people this summer and for a cease in violence. We prayed for special programs to be established for our children in the way of educational an recreational activities. These are especially important as we head toward the summer season. We prayed for more Christian activities to be established for our young people. We prayed for America to be protected from further terrorist attacks and for worldwide leaders to give their hearts to Jesus including those who have illegally taken authority. We prayed for God to bless President Bush and Laura with Godly wisdom.

4/22/07

We were able to give some food items to an elderly widow who so appreciated them.

We had the pleasure of praying with two promising young lads in the neighborhood. We were also able to give them a Christian CD. This will allow them hear positive messages rather that the junk so many young people listen to today. Children are so innocent. This is the way we are to approach God if we are to first of all to establish a relationship with Him and then to receive his blessings. *** (READ THE FOLLOWING) ***

Matthew 18:2-6 says, “Jesus called a little child to him and put the child among them. 3 Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. 4 So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. 5 “And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me. 6 But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea.”

We also did a prayer walk. We were praying for marriages and families to be healed. Satan is doing all that he can to destroy families. The family is the first institution established by God and Satan knows that by messing up families a chain reaction is started and eventually societies are eroded. We prayed for gang members to come to Christ. We prayed for people to have places to live. We prayed for the Word of God to go forth and for an end time revival that so far exceeds all previous revivals combined.

3/10/07

We did a prayer walk this evening praying for many different needs of various communities and the world. During our walk four people (a wonderful lady, and three teenagers) prayed with us to receive Christ. Praise God!!!

3/7/07

We had a tremendous time praying for the needs of America and the world. We also had the pleasure of taking some young people to church. These are young men who ordinarily would have spent their time doing drugs.

3/5/07

We did a prayer walk today. We focused on the needs of all areas in the City of Boston and some neighboring towns as well as Massachusetts and America. Among other things, we prayed for people to be saved (born again spiritually) and for people to be delivered from drugs which includes alcohol.

3/1/07

We did a prayer walk today. Among other things we focused on praying for the youth in Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, and throughout the Boston area. We also prayed for parents and our leaders. As part of our theme we prayed for our youth to be set free from drugs and for people to give their hearts to Jesus.

2/25/07

We had the pleasure of bringing food items and rock salt to some wonderful families. As you know, in Boston and many surrounding areas, we have had quite a time of dealing with ice during recent snow falls and increasingly cold weather. It would sometimes get warm and the snow would start melting only to freeze again resulting in more ice.

We studied James 1:17 which says,

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights.” It is so important that we understand that everything good comes from God. The plan is for them to become sensitive to God and His goodness toward each of us and we are to give thanks to Him for everything.

We then focused on Ephesians 6:1-3 which says,

Children and Parents

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”

This shows them how important it is for children to obey their parents. In fact, of the Ten Commandments, it is the only one to which God attaches a promise. We want our children to know that loving parents want the best for them. So when they say it is time to come in at night that is not to be mean but because of discipline and safety issues. We want them to have a wonderful future and if they are to succeed in life they will have to learn to obey certain rules early on.

We also taught them the song, “Jesus loves the little children.”

¶Jesus loves the little children,

All the children of the world,

Red, yellow, black, and white,

Their all precious in His sight,

Jesus loves the little children of the

world.¶

It is so important that children as well as adults know that in God’s eyes the color of a person’s skin makes no difference. As we all know children are not born racists this is something they are taught. So, just as God, who created all people, loves everyone so are we to do the same.

We watched a BibleMan video titled, ‘Conquering the wrath of rage.’

This is a wonderful illustration of how to deal with anger. It is about not letting anger control you but you controlling it. The BibleMan series is designed to show kids, and I might add adults, how to use the Word of God to deal with situations rather than physical violence or any other means that are not positive.

Note: It is important that we know that God’s laws are immutable. Which is to say that God is so awesome that even if people decide not to accept Jesus into their hearts-that if they apply his laws they will still realize some degree of positive results. They will not make it into heaven but they will achieve some measure of success in this world.

Finally, it is better to not only know success in the temporal world but to know that you will spend eternity in heaven with God.

Jesus loves you.
