THE REAL JESUS

THE REAL JESUS

Genesis 3:15 (NLT)

15From now on, you and the woman will be enemies, and your offspring and her offspring will be enemies. He will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

This was prophesied thousands of years before Jesus had come to earth. It is talking about the show down between Jesus and Satan at the cross. Jesus defeated Satan and even death by His sacrifice and resurrection. He crushed Satan’s head.

Exodus 3:14 (NIV)

14 God said to Moses, “I am who I am . This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”

John 8:58 (NIV)

58″I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!”

Before going back to Egypt Moses asked God who he should tell the people sent him and God presented Himself as I Am. This was thousands of years before Jesus came into world as a man. And you see that in the gospel of John, Jesus claims to be the same God who had instructed Moses. This shows that Jesus’ life did not begin with His earthly pilgrimage but He already existed.

Isaiah 7:14 (NLT)

14All right then, the Lord himself will choose the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel–`God is with us.’

Isaiah 9:6-7 (NLT)

6For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. And the government will rest on his shoulders. These will be his royal titles: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7His ever expanding, peaceful government will never end. He will rule forever with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David. The passionate commitment of the LORD Almighty will guarantee this!

These prophecies came several hundred years before Mary conceived Christ by the Holy Spirit. As we know the Christmas Story tells of this wonderful event.

Micah 5:2 (KJV)

2But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

This prophecy was fulfilled when Jesus, the Messiah, was in fact, born a Jew. It shows that Jesus is from everlasting ages past.

Revelation 1:8 (NKJV)

8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

This verse shows that Jesus is God almighty.

John 8:3-12 NIV)

3The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.  But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” 11″No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” 12When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Jesus truly is the light of the world.

Colossians 1:15 (NIV)

The Supremacy of Christ

15He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

So you see, everything was created by Christ.
